Asbestos and Lead Workshop to be hosted by Louisiana DEQ

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality will present a free asbestos and lead workshop on May 23. The purpose of the workshop is to provide a summary of the rule revisions of the asbestos regulations, an overview any new lead-based paint activities revisions if they are still being considered by the legislature and issues encountered by DEQ staff this past year. Guest speaker, Glenn Gomes, M.D., will talk about the medical consequences of asbestos exposure. There will be a question-and-answer period. This workshop is open to the public.
